Stages

One of the things that has surprised me about having a baby is the amount of laundry one tiny little person can generate. It is remarkable! Something I've noticed, though, is that although the amount of laundry seems to stay the same, the items that I wash change. Stages, I suppose. When Sophie was a wee thing - even more wee than she is now - she would cruise through onesies like they were going out of style. I would say at least 2 -3 outfits per day due to diaper blow-outs, spit-up episodes, etc. When she eased off of the diaper blow-outs (thank goodness!) then we started going through burp cloths and receiving blankets. I felt like all I did was fold receiving blankets and roll them up into nice little blanket burritos. The phase we are currently in is - apparently - the bib phase. I have to do laundry every 4 days just to keep a dry bib on Sophie. I'd say we average about 4 bibs a day - that's up from an average of 3 bibs a few weeks ago. I've contemplated beefing up our bib supply and purchasing more bibs... but I figure, why bother? This is only a phase... judging from her increasing adeptness at finding her feet, it looks like I'll be washing socks next!

Hi Lisa,
Yes, I understand the "laundry stages." We're into the "shirts" phase right now, but unfortunately the "bib" stage is ongoing! rats! We're also into a lot of dirty knees and fronts of socks, with Samantha crawling everywhere. Cute picts.

ahhhh yes. the laundry stages. i remember having to do laundry every 3 days so we had enough burp cloths. Ditto what Kamber said. We're in the dirty knees and fronts of socks stage too.
