Garden Plot Update

You may recall from an earlier post that we started a very tiny vegetable garden. You have to understand that in my family, our entire front yard was a garden. And that was in Boston, where the soil is always a rich black organic affair.

I wouldn't quite call our Texas dirt and organic affair. I can actually see cracks in the dirt under the grass that remind me of a parched river bed...

That having been said, our little garden is actually doing much better than I expected. We planted some peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and zucchini.

The Main Plot

The Bell Pepper Plot

We may actually harvest our first cucumber soon!

We'll have more zucchini than we know what to do with here shortly. We need to start trading with people that have fruit trees!

And tomatoes look like they'll be ready in a couple weeks.

We'll see if the kids can leave them alone as they get bigger and turn red! I actually think most of this food will ripen just in time for us to leave for Renee's wedding. We'll see!

Picture Perfect

So these three photos pretty much sum up our trip here in CA...
Having a wonderful time! Wish you were here!!

And now I will perform a major photo dump since these pics weren't on my camera and I want them for my Blurberati book this year. I know there are plenty of other ways of doing this... but I find myself on blogger so here they are. Just ignore these... unless of course you WANT to see 500 pics of us at Disneyland!
