So, I've basically been writing essays ever since I took the GMAT (you may have noticed a lack of posts since then). However, we've read so many iterations of the same essays that by last night we needed a fresh set of eyes on them. We developed a strategy of moving further west the later it got. The first round was Lisa in State College.
Next, Cris represented for the mountain standard time zone. He was a champ - he went back to his work late at night so he would have an internet connection.
Lastly, my California mom represented for the Pacific standard time. I found out later that they had a spontaneous family prayer for me as well - THANKS!!
I wanted to showcase the fruits of all that labor.
Here's the application ready to go - just have to hit "submit"

For dramatic pause, I'm going to also insert a quick comment here about Marie. Marie is a colleague of my from my days working at HBS. She was amazing - she read my two big essays and turned them around super quickly, and had wonderful comments. Lisa would read the essays that came back from her and say "this is what I was thinking - it's perfect."
So, drum roll please...

It's in - I'm all done (with that application)!
So now the most important shout out. My darling wife was up until 3:30 am last night, well after my brain shut off, trying to massage my last essay into a masterpiece. Those of you who have have seen my writing know how daunting that can be. This was not the first late night for her. She has been my dutiful taskmaster every night. More impressive, she would get up in the morning to feed Sophie and try to let me sleep. I'm embarrassed to admit that I let her more than once.
So I have the weekend to recover and then it's time to get started on the next application!

so, let's actually see/read the final essays!!!
I think you need to do something sweet for your lovely wife, Lisa. Flowers? Dinner? A new outfit? Sleep is definitely a precious commodity to give up!
We knew she was darling long before Oct `04.
