Well, while you're all voting, thought I'd finally jump back on the blogging bandwagon and post a new little something. I've been thinking about this quite a bit recently. About a week or so ago Sophie and I were grocery shopping in the middle of the day. The middle of the day is a GREAT time to grocery shop if you have a little baby and want to hear all kinds of nice, elderly people tell you how cute she is. I have discovered this sweet crowd of consumers since having Sophie. They may walk a little more slowly out to their cars, but they are certainly appreciative of cute babies!
Anyway, so after having talked to at least a handful of our fellow grocery store shoppers, we went to check out. The cashier in the aisle next to us didn't have any customers to help and so she, naturally, began talking to Sophie. She asked me what her name was, how old she was, told me how cute she was -- you know, the usual stuff. ;) After we'd paid and were just about to walk out the door, this cashier, who had been waving goodbye to Sophie, called out, "God Bless you, Sophie!"
I thought about that little comment and that nice cashier all the way home. I love it. I love how simple it is. I love that some complete stranger wished good things for my baby. And not just good things, but good things involving God. I've lived many places where God is so far from people's minds that they would not even think of including Him in a salutation. I very much appreciate living in a place where religion is prevalent. We may not all believe exactly the same things, but for the most part, we believe in God. And we'd like Him to bless us, and our friends and our neighbors. And especially that kind cashier.
God bless you.

What a great story! I'm so glad you're blogging again. :)
I'm grateful for those kinds of experiences, too, Lisa. I'm glad that He really has blessed Sophie and lots of wonderful babies and children that I particularly love and even those I don't know. It's kind of like the song, "WE need a little Christmas". We definitely need a little "God", as you said every day.
