I wanted to write about three of my favorite Christmas cards we received this year - we had some good ones.
First, our good friends Mary and Steve always have witty and clever rhymes to go along with their card. Two years ago they used a basketball theme, Steve was the coach, Mary the manager and Nikolai, their son, the star. Last year they announced they were expecting using some clever rhyme and this year they sent regrets for getting their cards out late in the same fashion. Always look forward to them (though they do remind me ours could be much more clever).
Second, a good friend of mine from the MBA program gave me their Christmas card - it was a DVD! It was clever and didn't get "stored" in the round file with the rest of them the week after Christmas either. It's a combination of pictures set to music and videos from the year, like the arrival of their second daughter the week before school started.
Third, my sister-in-law sent us a "build-a-snowman" kit with hers (out of craft items, not snow). Her cards are always crafty and unique. I think the cricut gives her an unfair advantage though.
Oh, I almost forgot, there was this one we got from the White House. Apparently if you send them a Christmas card, they will send you a note in response! Pretty cool, huh?

Wow! That's really cool about the Whitehouse! I had never thought about sending the "president" my Christmas cards! ha ha Those are some creative ones....although the CD sounds like too much work for people to get as a Christmas card but what a fun idea. I've never heard of it before!
We got an actual card from George and Laura, but it just went into the circular file.
Love Sophie's pants.
Cool! I'll have to try that, and send a card to the White House. This may be the only year to do that, since... never mind. I don't want to get into the Presidential elections! Anyway! What a fun idea!
Thanks for the shoutout! The cricut... no unfair advantage!!! :) You TOO could use it this year!
ok get the news out!!!
Sweet daddy we made it on your blog!!! Yeah. . . it's the next best thing to being able to go over to your house. Miss you guys and so excited for little boy LaPierre.
