Turn off the lights!

It's funny how Sophie changes. When she was born she refused to sleep on her back - REFUSED! The resulting sleep deprivation quickly broke us down, and we caved into letting her sleep on her stomach (I know - we're terrible parents). Anyway, she has just recently taken a very strong preference to sleeping - wait for it - yup, on her back! She's redeemed us - we're good parents again!

Another funny observation is how her "blanky" infatuation has morphed. It started with needing to hold a blanket in her fist while she sucked her thumb. Then is seemed to be feeling the blanket on her cheek. Now it is covering her face with the blanket! I still wouldn't say that she's got a blanky fetish anywhere nearly as bad as Marci, but the photo below shows what Lisa and I found in the crib on a particularly funny night.


Because this is how she calms herself and settles into a deep sleep, we don't have many pictures of her doing this - you know that whole let sleeping babies lie. Lisa wasn't too happy I risked this photo, but I figured she couldn't see the flash. Apparently I was wrong, because on the next picture, she even pulled her feet under the blanket.
