The hardest part of moving to TX was leaving so many good friends behind. Lisa and I like to tell ourselves that we are mature and have moved enough in the last 5 years that it's not that hard. However, it's been particularly hard to watch Sophie try to adjust. She had a number of close friends she left behind, but none closer than her cousin Sam.
However, she's discovered the joy of talking on the telephone. This is a video I took of her talking to Sam on the phone - for like 25 minutes! Think I have to worry about her teenage years?
The other silver lining has been watching Sophie grow in her relationship with Travis. Travis adores Sophie, and thinks whatever she's doing is the best. It's so nice to see her reciprocate and play with him too (though we're not big fans of her insisting she can only talk like a baby).

Oh my gosh! That is so cute of her on the phone with Sam! Soooo cute.
We were laughing our heads off right along with Soph, but kept checking our microwave to see what was in there. Oh - that's YOUR microwave! Soph and Sam are hilarious!
Let me just say that Sam was laughing that hard too. I think he actually had some tears in his eyes from laughing so hard! He misses his little "Bope Gert". It was hilarious to watch them on the phone together. And... I don't think they actually spoke ENGLISH most of the time. It was just silly sounds and laughing.

Yes, definitely worry about those teenage years! Sophie and Sam were pretty cute on the phone. It sounds like despite the distance they still get along really well! Also cute of the two of them (Sophie and Travis).
How cute! Can't believe how big both your kids are getting already. I watched the "phone" vid with no sound the first time... she TOTALLY looks like a 15-yr-old, talking to a friend. I wonder what Sam was saying that was soooo hilarious.
