Ready, Set, Run!

This weekend Bryce and I joined several thousand other people for the Rex Lee Run on BYU campus! At the beginning of the year we did a 5K together (each pushing a child in a stroller) and during that race I decided that I wanted to run the Rex Lee 5K at the end of the school year. Check that one off the list. It was a great time -- I'm ready to do another one! :) No time for more text - bed is calling and tonight I am listening. Here's a quick photo journal for you...

Bryce just before the 10K race started (he did the 10K pushing about 80 pounds of double stroller -- I did the 5K pushing myself) -- Sophie and Travis bundled up! It was quite chilly! Gina and me -- we're just happy to be here, folks! We were close to the finish line, too -- we were happy to be there, as well. :)Just after finishing the race!
And I'll toot Bryce's horn here -- he ran the 10K with the stroller, weaving around other racers, stopping here and there to take care of the kids, and just generally trying *really* hard to not be in full racing mode - to just take it easy and treat the race as a fun run (this is REALLY hard for Bryce to do). So, with all those little handicaps he still managed to come in 4th for his age group - and was just 2 seconds away from placing 2nd for his age group! And yes, it's driving him nuts. But I think it's awesome! :) Go Bryce!!I ran the race with two friends from the MBA Spouse group -- Gina & Monica. Turns out running is lot more fun when you have company! We must not have been TOO tired if we were posing for pics, eh? :)Bryce ran in honor of a classmate's little boy who passed away this summer from cancer.
We love you, Tobin! With more MBA spouse friends at the race!

Good Job Lisa! I ran a 5K last fall- I trained for it for about 7 weeks, ran it, had hadn't run since then. . . 'till a couple of weeks ago. Running is a mentally painful activity for me but once I get going I love how I feel when I do it.

When I ran my race the kiddies all asked if I won my race - I smiled and said "I finished my race" :)

That is amazing that Bryce did so well with a stroller! I'm totally impressed!

Wow! Impressive! That looks like so much fun! I really wanted to do it, but Joel couldn't... I should have run with you guys! If you want a running partner this summer, I LOVE it and plan on training for something when school isn't so crazy! Good job guys! And I'm so glad I found your blog...I listened to Sophie sing Cinderella like four times last night..gosh it is so cute and gives me that "have a child" fever! Way to go!

You go girl! That's awesome! I can't believe that Bryce did so well given his "handicaps!" So, what is next.... a marathon?!

You are so awesome guys! Lisa, it brings back such fond memories, you are still the best running partner I've ever had. Maybe that's why I don't do it much any more. :) What a great inspiration!

What a fun time! I need to do more of those. I've only done one on campus. It's a great environment. And look where you ended up...the old stomping grounds by Helaman Halls.
