Look What I Started

As many of you know, last year I decided to take over a club on campus called Net Impact. One idea I had for a new program was to place my fellow MBA as well as MPA students on the Board of Directors for local non-profits. This year got off to a slow start, but it finally happened. I'm pretty excited that this can become a great, if not coveted, part of the MBA program in the future.

The MBA homepage has displayed a link to a January 16 press release about the program for the last few weeks. Following that, KBYU did a segment on it for the news at noon program (I modified it a little - thanks Jeff for the cool logo!)

Finally, the Daily Universe, the campus newspaper, ran a story last week about it as well. Glad to have some publicity brought to the program! It should help us recruit another batch of nonprofits, and perhaps some first year students, for next year.

Interesting side note: in gathering the links above, I realized I am the second LaPierre to be quoted in the Daily Universe. Here's the other

Why didn't they interview you, who started it?

I thought the CEO of United Way (and the person responsible for keeping the program alive after I leave) was a better person to have the face time.
