Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! The 4th is my 2nd favorite holiday (Thanksgiving is my #1) - I love what the holiday represents and all we celebrate on the day. Also love that it usually involves some kind of water activity, ice cream and/or popsicles, fireworks and family!! What a great day.

This year we all dressed in our red shirts (and I am kicking myself for not getting a pic of the 3 of us...) and painted the town, er, red. Haha - oh, I'm so funny. After Sophie woke up from her nap we went in search of water to cool off - it was HOT yesterday. We found ourselves in Old Town Fort Collins - I think it's one of my favorite places around here. So cute and quaint and parking is never a problem. AND did you know that Disneyland's Main Street was modeled after Fort Collin's Old Town? That just makes it that much better. Anyway, there is this fountain area in Old Town that is technically modern art, though I am forgetting its name right now. Kids, dogs, adults, etc. all love to run around in it, so we decided to join the party people and Sophie had a great time. She wasn't so sure about it at first, but with Bryce's assistance she soon warmed up to things.Bryce showed Sophie how to fill her hat with water, then put it on her head - she loved it

It cracks me up when she bends back like this while laughing... :)
We didn't bring our ice cream maker to CO with us, so homemade ice cream was not an option...but we managed to make do just fine with this giant slurpee! You gotta love that hair... :)
And for those of you looking for a baby update... After my doctor's appointment on Thursday, we have jumped into full get-ready-for-baby-mode. The reason? I am apparently already dialated to a 4. The doc said she didn't want to jinx me, but was pretty certain the baby would come within the week. Sooooo, since we hadn't really been thinking that he would arrive before his due-date, we have now launched into getting everything ready as quickly as possible... just in case. This morning we pulled out the baby carrier to wash the pads and Sophie was ENTHRALLED with the chair. This is how we found her about an hour ago. :) If she's not sitting in it, then one of her babies/stuffed animals is. How do you think she is going to do when there is an actual baby sitting in there...??? We'll seeeee...

Sounds like a fun holiday! And YAY for already being a 4...I'm not sure what your actual due date is, but when I was a 4 with Jayden, my Dr. stripped my membranes and told me to come to L&D in a few hours and tell them I was in labor...LOVED that doc! Happy pushing and I hope it all goes well and SOON!

My new-fangled way of keeping up on my friends' blogs failed me and I have missed so many of your posts! Bryce - FYI, Josh is obsessed with how many Linked In contacts he has too, so maybe that one's not just limited to BYU MBA students. Lisa, good luck with Baby! I remember seeing that car seat at church a lot and am so happy you'll have another peanut in there soon. Looks like you had a fun 4th together. Awaiting the good news!
