Lily's Eyes and other favorites

Tuesday night Bryce and I saw The Secret Garden performed at the Hale Centre Theater in SLC. Cris gave us tickets to see it and Katy, Betsy and Renee watched Sophie for us. Thank you sooo much to all 4 of you!!

The Secret Garden is one of my favorite musicals - the music is so beautiful. And it's not easy to sing, either. But Tuesday night's actors did not disappoint - they were phenomenal!! Lily hit those high notes like they were no big thing and Archibald had a great big lovely voice, as well. One of Cris' friends played Martha and she could have easily blown away the theater if she wanted to with her set of lungs! It was lovely lovely lovely!! I enjoyed every minute of it! Some of my favorite songs = Lily's Eyes (the only song I know of about a hazel-eyed girl -- huzzah for hazel eyes!), The Girl I Mean to Be, A Fine White Horse, Hold On, Lift Me Up, Wick... just about ALL of them!

Possibly the funniest part, however, was sitting among a great slew of Cris' friends who didn't know that Cris had a twin brother. Apparently we caused quite a stir when we walked in holding hands and wearing wedding rings! Thanks again, Cris for a great date!

Now, for a bit of trivia... Who knows (my family excluded) the actor who performed the role of Archibald Craven (that would be Mary's uncle who she goes to live with) in the original Broadway cast? Anybody? If you give up, I'll give you a little hint... "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to DIE!" Yes, that's right folks. Little known fact = Mandy Patinkin, the actor we all know and love as Inigo Montoya, has this enormous, incredible voice, as well, and was the first to bring Archibald Craven to life on Broadway. Now when that question comes up on Trivial Pursuit you'll all get it right! Anyway, if you haven't heard The Secret Garden before I highly recommend it -- you won't be sorry you listened to it! And now you, too, can think of Inigo Montoya any time he sings a song on the soundtrack. :)
