Touch A Truck

This Saturday Round Rock hosted a "Touch A Truck" event at Old Settlers Park.

Right off the bat I have to say I was totally impressed with this event put on by the city of Round Rock. The had a wide variety of trucks on display - from fire trucks to SWAT vehicles to steam rollers to trash trucks to diggers! I think the best station by FAR was the backhoe where they let the kids operate the shovel!

We waited close to an hour in line for our turn (the kids were really suprisingly good) but it was TOTALLY worth it!

The next best event was getting to watch a helicopter land and take off. I was suprised how close they let us sit to it. I'm not sure if the kids or I were more excited. I found myself talking to a National Guard recruiter about joining up (to fly) before I realized that might be way too big a surprise to spring on Lisa when I got home.

Showing off the results of my trip to the range - 2 lifetime memberships and a red mark!
Muscle tone existed prior to the trip :)

We started our day with a trip to home depot to make festive napkin holders!

It was a fun and busy day. Hopefully a few memories at least!

Wow! Memorable experiences for these little tykes! I want to operate one of those diggers. Can't imagine what Sam and Zack are going to say when they watch these videos. And I love the HD project. What a fun day!

That rifle is a .30-06 and no, it's not mine. I live in Texas, I don't need to own a gun because all my neighbors do!
