Gettin' Organized

For Christmas Lisa gave me all the things that I purchased at 5am on black Friday. Specifically that was a shop vac (70% off!), 1 heavy duty shelving unit (40% off) and 4 storage totes (50% off!). It also included a set of 8 clamps that were full price, but the packaging said they were 70% off, so we'll call that one good too!

I wasted no time setting up the shelving in the garage and decided to put them next to each other instead of stacking them - which gives me an 8' desk surface. This also gives me 8' of wall space so I repurposed the pegboard I used for making frames to hang on the wall (and got another one to match it). Hanging the tools was soooo exciting because I realized I have so much more room to store tools now! Thanks for the HD giftcard Mel!!

After that, I starting unpacking boxes in our guest room closet that haven't seen the light of day since our wedding (literally left over from decorating for our wedding). There were power strips and extension cords that haven't been unpacked for 6 years! I quickly realized 4 totes wasn't goin to cut it. I got a dozen shoebox sized totes (inspired by my mother in law), a larger tote for storing Christmas ornaments, and the coolest way to store Christmas lights I've ever seen.
I managed to consolidate so much stuff that I actually had more room in the garage (2 additional feet on each side of the car and guests might actually be able to use the closet in that room now! I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Of course I didn't get a before picture, but below is close to finished product.

See - still lots of room for more tools!
